Adnan Bokhari, Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Adnan S. Bokhari is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at CFED, leading all aspects of the organization’s finance and investments while ensuring adherence to highest standards of nonprofit financial management. Adnan is also a member of CFED’s Leadership team and staff liaison to the Finance and Investment Committee of CFED’s Board of Directors.
Since joining CFED in October 2011, Adnan has lead on several key initiatives. He undertook the development and implementation of CFED’s hybrid financial model, enhanced information reporting structure, and adopted new budgeting and forecasting techniques. Adnan also played a major role in aligning CFED’s investments with its strategic priorities. His latest initiatives include implementation of project management software and development of a Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
Prior to joining CFED, Adnan worked at McQuade Brennan, LLP, a DC based full-service accounting firm, serving in various senior management roles and working closely with social mission-driven organizations and trade associations. In addition to nonprofits, Adnan’s clients represented the real estate development and mortgage lending sectors. Adnan’s professional experience also includes four years at the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) as its Budget Analyst.
Adnan is actively involved in the non-profit community. He is Chair of the Finance Committee and Board member of Byte Back, a non-profit organization working to improve economic opportunity for low-income residents of the District of Columbia. He also serves on the board of ROC USA, a community development finance institution serving the needs of manufactured housing community residents across the U.S. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and active member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs.
