Jennifer Medina, Associate Director, Savings & Financial Capability
Areas of Expertise: Integrated Service Delivery
Jennifer Medina is Associate Director of the Savings & Financial Capability team at CFED. Jennifer provides planning, implementation and evaluation support to community-based organizations integrating financial capability services—such as financial education, coaching, credit counseling or incentivized savings programs—into their existing programs. She helps these organizations decide which financial capability services will have the greatest impact on their clients, how to provide or connect clients to those services, and how to track project progress and client outcomes. With a national view of the financial capability field, Jennifer raises up innovative programs and strategies from across the country through publications and presentations, and connects practitioners who can learn from and support each other.
Prior to joining the Savings & Financial Capability team, Jennifer worked for three years on CFED’s Field Engagement team, leading the policy data collection and analysis for CFED’s Assets & Opportunity Scorecard. Before coming to CFED, Jennifer worked as a Program Specialist for the federal Assets for Independence Program, a Research Intern at Pew Research Center, and as a Guide in a national park in Patagonia, Chile.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in history, with a concentration in global development from Grinnell College, a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chile.
