Melissa Grober-Morrow is CFED’s Director of Savings and Financial Capability, where she oversees a team seeking solutions to building financial stability. The team’s work includes technical assistance and resource development for organizations working to help low-income households build wealth and become financially secure. Melissa has more than 10 years of experience helping families manage their finances and save money. Prior to joining CFED, Melissa was Senior Director of Economic Opportunity Programs at Points of Light, where she launched the Financial Opportunity Corps, a national AmeriCorps VISTA-led volunteer financial coaching program. Melissa also managed a volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) program in New York City that annually served more than 6,500 low-income families, connected them with credit union services, and tested incentivized savings products. Melissa also draws upon her 10+ years of experience in volunteer management to strengthen financial capability services in the field. Melissa holds an M.P.A. from New York University and a B.A. in psychological and brain sciences from Johns Hopkins University.
