Last month, the Assets for Independence Act (AFI) IDA Resource center profiled CFED Founder and Chairman of the Board Bob Friedman in their monthly newsletter. The profile includes a thoughtful background about Bob’s work and a conversation between him and CFED Program Associate for External Affairs, Lauren Stebbins, about the role AFI grantees have in building assets for American families. You can read the profile here.

In Bob’s conversation with Lauren, he explains the difficulty in brining IDAs to scale. He notes that right now, there are hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries of IDAs who have been helped by the hundreds of AFI grantees around the country. But, making sure that the thousands more Americans who could benefit from IDAs have access to them is certainly a challenge (although one I’m sure Bob looks forward to).

On behalf of CFED, I offer sincere thanks to the friendly folks at AFI’s IDA resources for their recognition of Bob’s efforts to expand economic opportunity for all Americans.
