On behalf of innovation@cfed, I am proud to announce the opening of the 2010 online submission window! Starting today, you are invited to submit concepts that have the potential to expand economic opportunity by visiting http://cfed.org/programs/innovation/submitideas.
This year, we’ve created a variety of opportunities to which you can apply to add to the exciting opportunities we launched in 2009, all of which offer the chance to play key roles at the go-to event of the year, CFED’s 2010 Assets Learning Conference, September 22-24 in Washington, DC. The biennial Conference, The Assets Movement at its Moment: Creating the Save and Invest Economy, will convene over 1,000 leaders from the public, business, academic, philanthropic and community sectors in the nation’s largest gathering focused on assets and opportunity.
Here are the exciting opportunities to which you can apply using the online application system:
- Innovators-in-Residence are individuals who are prepared to take a proven concept to the next level during a virtual or in-house residency with CFED. This highly competitive program will offer one or more opportunities for a 12 to 24 month residency including a stipend of up to $50,000 and CFED support and resources.
- Innovative Ideas are solid concepts that have the potential to significantly impact economically vulnerable people. Selected Innovative Idea Champions will be featured at the Conference and the Innovation Marketplace and will receive other valuable benefits.
- Next Generation Innovators are young people, aged 18 to 30, who have ideas to expand economic opportunity or who have talents and energy to share with the Conference.
- Innovative Entrepreneurs have a product or service in the stimulating Innovation Marketplace.
- International Ideas recognizes that fresh perspectives from around the world can improve the economic well-being of low-income Americans and enhance the Conference’s idea exchange.
Applying online is easy, and I encourage you to apply early as there will be limited space available in each category. The submission window is now open at http://cfed.org/programs/innovation/submitideas! The deadline for Innovator-in-Residence and Innovative Ideas submissions is April 15, 2010. If you have questions about the application opportunities, please read FAQs and if you still have questions, email innovation@cfed or give me a call at 202.207.0143.
