The International Center for Research on Women (IRCW), of which innovation@cfed Strategic Advisor Geeta Rao Gupta is President, is proud to announce its 2010 Champions for Change: Innovation Empowers Women Awards Cocktail Reception, to be held Monday, March 8 at the House of Sweden in Washington, DC. Geeta was the inspirational opening speaker for CFED’s 2009 Innovation Summit last fall, sharing a highly personal story of her two grandmothers to forcefully illustrate the critical impact of innovation to open opportunities for people that improves their lives and those of future generations. On March 8th, International Women’s Day, the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) hosts its high profile event, the 2010 Champions for Change Awards Cocktail reception at the House of Sweden in Washington, DC. Join more than 450 international development leaders, government representatives, corporate leaders, and major civil society actors to support ICRW by attending and donating. The signature event helps raise vital funds for ICRW to continue its research and advocacy work on behalf of women and girls across the globe. This year, ICRW will present its Innovation Award to Bill Roedy for MTV's international 'Staying Alive' campaign that encourages HIV prevention, promotes safer lifestyle choices and fights the stigma and discrimination which fuels the HIV epidemic.
