In case you missed it, I’ll quickly tell you about the opportunities offered through this year’s submission process. Applications for Innovators-in-Residence, individuals who establish a virtual or in-house residency with support from CFED up to $50,000, are now being accepted. We’re also accepting applications for Innovative Ideas. Innovative Idea Champions are individuals who have concepts in earlier stages of development that have the potential to positively impact the lives of all Americans. The deadline for applications in these categories is April 15, 2010.

In addition, we’ve created three exciting new program elements, designed around the premise that fresh perspectives propel innovation. International Ideas are those submitted by individuals living outside the United States that bring international approaches to challenges facing American communities. Next Generation Innovators are those young people, age 18 to 30, who are committed to confronting the vulnerabilities facing low- and moderate-income families. Innovative Entrepreneurs are individuals with products or services they would like to sell or demonstrate at the 2010 Assets Learning Conference. These enterprises typically exist because of innovations in the assets field.
