The Assets Moment
Adventures of the Pig, Volume I
Posted on 06/14/2010 @ 05:10 PM
In the first installment of our Adventures of the Pig, our piggy bank has made its way to Capitol Hill, where it hopes to be joined by hundreds of ALC attendees in lobbying Congress for a refundable saver's credit and other key legislation to promote asset building. At the 2008 ALC, more than 700 Hill Visit meetings were held, and the Pig hopes you will help break that record. You can sign up for a Hill Visit when you register for the conference.
Capitol Hill Visits are your opportunity to educate Members of Congress and their staffs about the importance of asset-building policies and how asset-building programs in their home states and communities are transforming people’s lives. Legislators are more effective at drafting, promoting and supporting legislation after hearing from their constituents about local asset-building efforts. Whether it’s your first time visiting your elected officials or you’ve made several visits in the past, everyone has an important perspective to share, so we hope you’ll join your colleagues for an inspiring morning on the Hill.

Stay tuned, you never know where Pig will end up next!
