Opening Doors to New Funding Streams

Co-presented by CFED & NeighborWorks America

Wednesday, May 23, 2012, 1 – 2 pm EDT

Over 130 attendees joined us for a discussion of how two housing organizations, CASA of Oregon and Beyond Housing, have cultivated new funding streams for programs to expand their work into other areas of asset building such as financial education and college savings. Maggie Reilly of CASA of Oregon and a CFED 2010 Innovative Idea Champion, discussed CASA’s partnership with the Oregon Alliance of Independent Colleges and Universities, specifically how the partnership supports CASA’s Matched College Savings Program. Chris Krehmeyer of Beyond Housing, a NeighborWorks affiliate, discussed funding streams they have tapped into to support their asset building programs and the 24:1 Initiative, a comprehensive community development initiative led by Beyond Housing. Presentations were followed by a Q&A session.

Presenters included:

  • Maggie Reilly - Program Director, CASA of Oregon
  • Chris Krehmeyer - President and CEO, Beyond Housing
  • Rick Haughey - Director of Affordable Housing Initiatives, CFED (moderator)
