Welcome. The State Microenterprise Association Capacity Building Program responds to the needs of State Microenterprise Associations (SMAs) for more intensive and customized technical assistance and models for effective practice. The program combines training and technical assistance with a web-based Toolkit to test the impact of such a program on building stronger SMAs.
The Toolkit covers the critical steps to developing and maintaining a strong and enduring SMA. A solid organizational development and capacity building process is crucial for SMAs to choose the most beneficial goals and to successfully implement them. The major parts of the Toolkit include: Organizational Development, Public Policy, Practitioner Development, Public Education and Fundraising. The State Microenterprise Association Capacity Building Toolkit is funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
