Through an open and wide-ranging search, CFED identifies and aims to increase the visibility of solid concepts that have the potential to significantly impact economically vulnerable people.

innovation@cfed currently works with 48 active Innovative Idea Champions and Engineers who work in a variety of topic areas. To find out more about these dynamic individuals and their approaches to expanding economic opportunity, visit the Innovation Portfolio.

How are Innovative Ideas selected?
Idea submissions that fit within the mission criteria will be reviewed for eligibility. Specifically, we are looking for:

innovation@cfed

• good, solid innovative ideas that can expand economic opportunity for significant numbers of low- and moderate-income Americans.
• ideas with great potential impact for particularly disadvantaged populations will receive special consideration.ideas that will benefit from increased visibility resulting from selection.
• ideas that cross “silos” and/or incorporate synergies among community practice, public policy and private markets will be given special consideration.

What benefits are associated with being selected as an Innovative Idea Champion?
Innovative Idea Champions will be featured on the innovation@cfed platform, including the 2010 Assets Learning Conference and the innovation@cfed Web site. Innovative Idea Champions will receive a complimentary registration to the Conference, and may receive an honorarium to present at the Conference. Champions will also have the opportunity to provide content and host blogs on the innovation@cfed Web site and to share and disseminate their innovations through CFED’s Web site, publications and networks. CFED will create a framework for Innovative Idea Champions to become links to leaders of working groups or communities of practice around these ideas as a way to encourage their evolution.
