VITA Awareness Day 2016
2016 VITA Awareness Day is March 15; Get Involved Today!
Each year, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program puts billions of dollars back in the pockets of low-income taxpayers nationwide. In 2015, we launched our first-ever VITA Awareness Day to call attention to the importance of VITA programs in the communities they serve. This year, VITA Awareness Day will be even bigger as we work to engage partners and advocates across the country to help raise the profile of community tax preparation.
Below are the ways you can get involved in this year's VITA Awareness Day, taking place on Tuesday, March 15.
Capitol Hill Policy Forum: The Impact of Tax-Time Issues on Low-Wage Workers Nationwide
Join us on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, March 15, for a policy forum on the opportunities and challenges facing low-wage workers at tax time. During the event, experts from Intuit, Maryland CASH Campaign, the Consumer Federation of America, United Way World Wide and CFED will discuss the federal policy implications surrounding tax preparation and ways that we can better support vulnerable taxpayers. Space is limited, so register today.
